Synopsis

Americana Award winning film

Sayu, in her adolescence, struggles between divergent realities to shape her identity. On the one hand, she is a Cuban who skates and loves to sing, but on the other hand she is a Japanese whose family wants to take her back to Japan to give her a better future. Her daily life is characterized by a crossroads of irreconcilable paths.

    Hideki Nakazaki is a Peruvian-Nikkei filmmaker who graduated at the International Film and Television School (EICTV, in San Antonio de los Baños), in Cuba, as a filmmaker with a specialty in fiction films. His projects focus on identity, memory and immigration. The short films La Luz de Masao Nakagawa and Entre dos Islas have been selected at different festivals around the world.
